Using domestic wood is a pro-climate act

The use of domestic energy wood helps reduce the carbon dioxide emissions caused by the climate change. Well managed forests are important carbon dioxide sinks.

When wood is burned, the same amount of coal is freed into the atmosphere that the tree had tied to itself while it was growing. From the greenhouse effect point of view, wood is a neutral energy raw material. Whereas when fossil fuels are used, considerably more carbon dioxide, which accelerates the climate change, is freed into the atmosphere. For example, one liter of heating oil frees up to 2.9 kg of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The energy content of one Fixteri bale, on the other hand, corresponds to about 100 liters of crude oil burned!

Less emissions from a rationalized logistics chain

Fixteri bundling also significantly increases the eco efficiency of raw material transportation. The forest transportation of raw wood material is 2-3 times more efficient because of Fixteri bundling than the transportation of traditional loose cut. In long-haul transportation, on the other hand, it is possible to utilize the transportation in both directions more efficiently than before, which considerably cuts down the traffic emissions caused by the transportation, Bales can be transported at the same time with the log and pulpwood deliveries by traditional truck, train, and barge stock, which minimizes the emissions caused by raw wood material transportation, and improves the economic exploitation of smaller energy wood batches.

Fixteri bundling nourishes the substrate in the forest

The use of a Fixteri baler enhances the well-being of forests. When the wood is fed in, the delimbing feeder rollers of the baler mechanically remove the needle and leaf mass as nutrient for the ground. In the competing felling of whole trees, the needle and leaf mass of the branches is not removed mechanically, and therefore the nutrient residue in the forest is lower compared to the Fixteri method. Fixteri bundling then guarantees the best possible substrate for the forest, which increases both the profit obtained from the forest, and carbon dioxide sinks.
